colloquia

education:
Like what the speaker said education is a learning process. I agree, because if everyone has the eagerness to learn they will achieve their goal. If everyone will strive hard otherwise we might not achieve success. In education it takes a lot of patience in everything that we do.

literature:
I do believe that most of us have passion when it comes to wrting poems. Unfortunately, i'm not one of them. However, i love reading poems. Apparently, I already joined the poetry interpretation contest but sadly i didn't win.

entertainment:
I've learn that in Theater you must learn the word pakikisama because it is very important that you have good relationship with your co-actors. I learned to love theater when i took the subject last semester, i really had so much fun.

Fashion:
Fashion fades but style won't that's what i've learned from the speaker. It doesn't matter if your clothes are not expensive as long as you know how to carry it.

Sports:
I had fun listening to the speaker because she taught us some of the basic exercise of taechi. I had fun doing it because it would really help me to lessen my fats on my tummy.

Medical Technology:
I really thought that i would get bored on the topic. Fortunately it was fun to learn new things from the colloquia. I was amazed on how can they discover a person's illness. Actually most of us have a lot of queries because we want learn more about the topic.

Health and Beauty:
I believe all people have differences when it comes to beauty. I learned from the topic that it doesn't matter whether you don't posses the physical beauty what's important is you posses an inner beauty.

Music:
I was inspired by the speaker who has deep passion about music. I am also passionate about music because i love to sing and listen to songs that strucks me.

The Hype of Koreanovelas

Why do Filipinos a big fan of koreanovelas?? Actually, it is a never-ending question that is always been easy for me to answer. Besides, Koreanovelas is not the first to conquer the attention of the Filipinos. Chinovelas first became hype when Meteor garden was first aired in Channel 2, which gained ratings in which so many viewers were watching. Otherwise, chinovelas started invading the Philippine television first until Koreanovelas started appearing on national television. In accordance to the article I read at http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/ by Melissa Telan “Pinoy audiences are fed up with soap operas that last for years. They want something they can invest in and at the same time would have a beginning and an ending. Korean dramas fit the bill since they are short enough for viewers to watch the entire run. And since they feature only a few main characters, the audience is able to become involved with them despite their shorter length.” It’s true that teleseryes here in the Philippines is not enticing to watch anymore that I could almost switch the channel and find an interesting one. One more thing is that the teleseryes would take a long time before the story ends and sometimes the scenes were too exaggerated to watch. I think Filipinos were looking for something different in a way they could be more interested that catches their taste in watching teleseryes. It made a big impact to the Filipinos for it had influenced them in terms of food, fashion, values and music.

Apparently, the good thing about Korean dramas is that every scene in the story is exciting and the viewers could easily relate themselves from the story. For instance, the Koreanovela full house that became a hit, which made a mark because of its funny and kilig scenes of Jesi and Justin. I think Filipinos are fond of watching dramas that caters entertainment that amuses them from watching. It is very important that they understand and relate very well to make them feel the realism of the story. In fact, Filipinos were engrossed of the setting in most Korean dramas because of the attractive sights they see. In that way may be they get to travel as well while taking a glimpse of the view by watching koreanovelas. Accordingly, it was also said in the article “Another reason we Pinoys have taken a liking to Korean dramas is the values found in the shows reflect our own.” I strongly agree that the fact that Filipinos could relate on the story of most Korean dramas they get the benefit of learning values. Filipinos get values from koreanovelas for it showcase love and respect of family and value of culture and tradition. These things or values give mark to the Filipinos, that is being kept in mind.
On the other hand, that’s why most of the teleseryes that do appear on primetime are fantasies in which the format is change to catch more attention from the audience. Of course, Philippine drama also caters values although Korean drama has a larger audience. Absolutely, teleserye and fantaserye here in the Philippines are still being appreciated because before Korean dramas invaded us it was the Philippine drama that first catches the mind of the Filipinos.
